Fully completed applications received electronically or by Canada Post on or before February 16, 2024, with FULL PAYMENT, cheque or e-transfer, will be given priority. Auto-deposited e-transfers prior to jurying of vendor application does not constitute acceptance to the Summer Market.
One applicant can set up and operate only one business.
If more than one space is required vendors are welcome to apply for additional space. Vendors must ensure adequate staffing for additional space. The vendor or a family member must operate the booth.
Vendor applications received after February 16, 2024 will be subject to a $50 late fee, and acceptance will be pending space availability. Applicant will be placed on the waiting list. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by March 18, 2024.

FULL TIME VENDOR:
One 10’x10′ booth / all 10 market days. To qualify as Full Time, Vendor must attend 8 of the 10 weeks. Otherwise, please sign up as a Part Time Vendor

PART TIME VENDOR:
One 10’x10′ booth / minimum 5 market days.

DETAILED RULES & REGULATIONS – please read carefully.

  1. ALL ITEMS MUST BE HANDCRAFTED, HAND PAINTED OR MADE BY YOU! NO MANUFACTURED ITEMS WILL BE ACCEPTED. You [the vendor]confirm that items displayed and for sale are handcrafted/painted by you, the vendor. Crafts cannot be commercially produced or purchased ready for sale. Merchandise not handcrafted by the vendor is not permitted to be sold at the market. All items must be approved with vendor application. The vendor will sell only items listed on their application form to avoid duplication of other vendors. Items will be juried for duplication based on photos / description provided. Sublimation and Etched products – products using these techniques must be unique images or etchings created by the vendor. Vendors providing demonstrations of their art or craft must indicate this on their application, and is subject to approval during the jury process.
  2. MARKET HOURS & OPERATION – Market is open from 9 am to 2 pm. Set-up is from 7 am and must be completed by 8:45 am. No packing up before 2 pm. The market runs rain or shine. If vendor is not on site by 8:30 (without due cause or contacting the Market Manager) set up will not be permitted, and no refund will be given.
  3. VENDOR TENT SPACE – A tent not to exceed 10’x10′ is mandatory for each vendor. All tents must be properly erected and weighted for severe weather. Tent stakes are not permitted due to underground irrigation. It is the vendors’ responsibility to secure their tents properly to avoid damages to their own tents and products, as well as damages that could occur to neighbouring tents and displays. No makeshift tents are permitted. For a 10’x10’ canopy, under mild conditions, it is suggested that each leg should have a weight of 40 pounds. A 4L water bottle weighs about 10lbs. Sand bags, concrete or the tent weights can be customized to provide the weight needed. All weights must be tied down with ropes at each post (corner) from the weight to the top of the tent. This includes sand bags, weights and water bottles.
    1. – Vendors are required to display a sign in plain view, stating the name of the business, or the name of the vendor.
    2. – All displays must be attractive, tidy, clean and safe.
    3. – Nothing flammable is permitted within a vendor’s tent. This includes lit candles, incense or cooking oils & grills (electric appliances may be permitted). PSACA is not responsible for loss or damages incurred by vendor participation or negligence.
  4. VENDOR VEHICLES – Vehicles must be moved away from Market Square by 8:30am. Parking around the perimeter of the park, including Accessible Parking spaces, is reserved for customers. Vendor parking is available at the Bobby Orr Community Centre, a few spots on Church Street and the far end of Gibson Street. Vendors parking around the perimeter of the park will be asked not to return as a vendor. No refund will be given.
  5. ABSOLUTELY NO ENCROACHING – outside of a vendor’s 10′ x 10′ area. All items including displays, signage and chairs must be within that area.
  6. FOOD VENDORS – Vendors selling food are responsible to obtain certification from the Public Health Department (North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit) and have the certificate on display each day of the market. Certificates issued by other districts do not apply to North Bay Parry Sound district. A copy must be on file with application. Set up will not be permitted until PSACA has been provided a copy of certificate.
    It is recommended that the vendor begin the application process early in the New Year as the Health Department is very busy in the spring
    Vendors selling beer, wine, or liquor must submit a copy of their SOP (Special Occasion Permit) issued by the AGCO with their application. The person manning the booth must show the Market Manager their Smart Serve Certificate before any sales can commence.
  7. SMOKING – Market Square is a smoke-free area. This includes the sidewalks within and around the park.
  8. PETS – Vendors are not to bring pets to the market. Farm animals and wildlife are permitted if integral to their business, and approved by PSACA Executive.
  9. WASHROOMS – once again Parry Sound Library has agreed to allow VENDORS ONLY to use their washrooms. The library opens at 10am. Patrons should be directed to the public washrooms at the corner of Gibson and Seguin Street.
  10. PRIVATE INSURANCE COVERAGE – is highly recommended. Vendors are not covered under the PSACA policy, or the Town of Parry Sound’s policy.
  11. ABSENCE – If the vendor is unable to attend the market, please inform the Market Manager at least 24 hours prior, or before 7am the day of the market. Email to vankoughnettej@gmail.com.
